# No admin panel access…

 * Hello…
 * I was trying to tweak footer code and must have stripped out some important code,
   as now I can’t get back onto site.
 * I have recent back up, stored both on my server and desktop. I just need to figure
   out how to get access to my admin panel so that I can change themes (?) and get
   my site back to being operational.
 * Because I modified the themes code (apparently), the site has gone down all together,
   and I’m unable to do anything.
 * Any advise would be very much appreciated!

 * Access your server via [FTP or SFTP](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients),
   navigate to `/wp-content/themes/` and rename the directory of your currently 
   active theme. This will force the Twenty Ten theme to activate.

 * Thanks so much for the speedy response. Tried the above, but no luck. I know 
   this has something to do with coding relating to the theme. I’m near panic…worked
   long and hard on the design. Sigh…

 * I have back up sql. Can you help me with restoring, or point me to a thread that
   does, remember – no admin panel access. Sorry for the trouble, I have learned
   a hard lesson!

 * In that case, rename the theme’s directory back to what it was and try replacing
   the footer template with the copy from your backup.

 * Try [manually resetting your plugins](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F).
   If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the
   cause.
