# No API-key

 * I installed the WP script via my hosting service to get the blog onto my domain,
   but I never got an email with an Api-key and now can’t activate Akismet, since
   it asks me for the key and I do not have it. It also does not show up in my profile
   when I go into it via the admin panel. How do I get my key in this situation?

 * You need to create an account at wordpress.com to get the api key.

 * but that would give me a different blog wouldn’t it? I already got a blog, just
   not on the WP server, but on my own domain, using WP.

 * You don’t have to create a blog there…just create an account. Creating an account
   there is the only way I know of to get a key.
