No email validation

Hi,
I am using Steps for registration and have Email field but there is no email validation so users can go through all the pages and registration is not working.

I see this in the console:
An invalid form control with name=’user_email’ is not focusable.

Email field is set as required but if you write for example some.name.gmail.com it allows you to go further.
