With regards to the main image. That is the default setting/mapping indeed. You can also add your gallery images by adding them as “additional images” on the field mappings section of the plugin.

Cannot be found anymore in the debug.log. Did you delete the configuration of it?
You mention that variations are missing in the above feed however the ones that have an item_group_id in them are the variations so they do seem to be in the feed?

maybe you can see the variations by name in the feed but all with same image. in the facebook page icannot see any variation and the rest of the images of each product is missing.
Probably you have this feature enabled in the general plugin settings:
