Non-minified JavaScript files

    Is there a reason why the included JavaScript files aren’t minified in the build process?

    These are being flagged in Google PageSpeed for between 36-45% size savings.

    /modules/carousel/jetpack-carousel.js
    /_inc/spin.js
    /_inc/jquery.spin.js

    That’s something we’re looking into, and this is tracked and being tested here. We’ll make sure all JS files are minified in a future Jetpack release.

    In the meantime, I would recommend a plugin like Autoptimize to minify and concatenate all js files on your site:
