 * When I try to activate this plug-in, I get the message:
    “The “WP Widget Disable”
   plugin cannot run on PHP versions older than 5.3. Please contact your host and
   ask them to upgrade.” and then the plug-in doesn’t activate.
 * However, my server is running PHP 5.4.24 (Bluehost)
 * Anyway looks like a real cool plug-in that I would sure like to try out.

 * Hi there and thanks for reaching out.
 * Just activated the plugin on a site with PHP 5.5.x on it and it worked, tried
   with PHP 5.4.x and it worked. Could you please check the following for me in
   order to help you out: Create php file on your server and add the following line
   to check the php version:
 * `<?php phpinfo();`
 * Go to that file and make sure the PHP version is actually 5.4.24 on your server.
   Depending on your Bluehost account, the PHP handler might be set in your .htaccess
   file or you might need to add it yourself, if for example cpanel can’t write
   to your WP .htaccess file. Check the following links for further information:
    1. [PHP Version select in cPanel](https://my.bluehost.com/cgi/help/447)

 * Please let me know if this already solves your problem or how I might further
   assist you in getting there. Thanks!

 * Thanks for the help!
    That was the problem and your solution fixed it. The server
   was running 5.2.17, now on 5.4.43
 * Thanks for your help and for the plug-in.
