Not saving user capabilities

Hello,

first, thanks for making such a useful plugin which works fine except one thing:

I run an online directory that lets me adds different packages (user roles) to wp.

As it seams, it is not possible to save user capabilities to roles other than the standard WP roles. I see the new created roles in “Settings > User Capabilities” and it also shows the correct settings after saving …but… after a while (?), the boxes that where saved before return to “not ticked” so the event manager stops showing to the registered users.

Help would be highly appreciated!!

Hi Gregor, not sure which plugin you’re using to create roles, but EM should detect custom roles and let you assign permissions to them.

For example, that’s the case with s2Member.

I have a feeling your roles plugin is creating roles incorrectly (so we can’t see them), and maybe restting capabilities as well.

Hi Marcus,
it’s actually not a plugin but a theme i am using:

EM detects the roles (shows them correct) and when I tick the boxes and save, at first the changes seam saved but after “a while” they get un-ticked again.

Is there any way to “hardcode” the role and values for the theme created roles just like for subscriber role? At the end, they always should be the same as the subscriber permissions.

how about trying other role plugin? e.g. http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/plugins/user-role-editor/screenshots/

also, maybe you can check if your theme loads default wordpress jquery library or atleast it’s should be compatible.

you may want to ask the theme makers if they know anything about why this may be happening, chances are they are messing with user capabilities at scheduled times

Thanks, contacted the theme support and wait for an answer…. that I hopefully will get 😉

Coming back to my other question, just in case the support lets me down on this:
