@roosschellings By not working do you mean that it is not working with your theme? The plugin currently serves it’s own templates instead of your theme templates. The post templates in 0.6 and below are indeed too basic. This is something that we’re actively working on in v0.7 and beyond by introducing native amp theme support so that you can have all of the same design of your normal site when viewed in AMP, including nav menus, widgets, comments, etc.
