Thanks for your message.
Providing that the custom post type in the WP Download Manager plugin is set to ‘public’ then you should be able to see notifications for it in the ‘Notification Type’ dropdown in BNFW.
If it isn’t set to public, you may be able to use the register_post_type_args filter in order to change this.

Hi Thank you for the reply. The documents being added through WP Download Manager are set to public but I see no option in BNFW for this type of trigger. I dont even see a field called “Notification Type”. When I select to add a new notification the only field close is called “Notification For”, assuming that is the right field to select the notification type, I dont see anything referencing WPDM or documents in general. Any further assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Yes – Notification For is what I actually meant.
Is the WP Download Manager custom post type accessible by other plugins or only by itself? Wonder if it’s function is set to private or something.
BNFW is pretty simple in this regard – if the post type is available, it shows it in the list. So I figure something in WP Download Manager is preventing it from showing.
Under the attributes for a specific document that is uploaded in WP DM, in the Add Custom Field section, there are BNFW options listed. Might this be a way to make this work? Im not sure how to use the Custom Field option, but for BNFW there are options such as:
BNFW_Notification
BNFW_Message
BNFW_Subject
BNFW_Users
BNFW_email_formatting
etc…

Unfortunately not. It needs to be the other way around – needs to show in BNFW for it to work.
Perhaps it’s worth getting in touch with the plugin authors of WPDM?
