 * Hi, I’m getting this error during the authentication step:
 * “Oops! There’s no oauth_token parameter.
 * An external application has requested your login credentials and permission to
   perform certain actions on your behalf, but has failed to include all the required
   data.
 * You don’t really need to know what this means, except that you can’t use the
   application until this problem is fixed. (It’s a third-party problem, not a Flickr
   problem.)
 * There are lots of applications using the Flickr API. If you are curious about
   this, visit the Flickr Services page to see more examples of cool stuff. Otherwise,
   you might like to head to your home page…”
   Both keys are correct and I made sure
   that I copied them in plain text format. I can’t seem to find a solution nor
   workaround, any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Foauth_token-parameter-error-when-authenticating-flickr%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * Generally this would happen if you have invalid characters in the API key (it
   doesn’t matter if you are pasting it in plain-text). This problem was [reported once 3 years back](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/unable-to-authenticate-flickr/).
   In that case, it turned out that the user had invalid characters in the API key.
 * Here is what I would suggest – try creating a gallery without authenticating.
   You could do this by simply using the shortcode:
 *     ```wp-block-code
       [gallery type='flickr' user_id='35553131@N07' view='photos' count='5' text='sydney']
       ```
 * The above is one of my public albums, so if you are getting an error, the problem
   is with what you put in your API key. If you are getting a gallery with the above,
   then the problem is likely with your API secret.
 * Hi, thank you for the quick response. I saw that topic before creating this one
   so I already tried what the user with the issue did (copy and paste the keys
   from the summary page) but it didn’t work.
   I tried your shortcode and can see
   the photos just fine. I manually entered the API key and API secret and still
   get the same error.PS: since the shortcode is working also with our photos, can
   you point me to the page that explains shortcode parameters? I can’t seem to
   find it. Thank you.
 * Sorry, not sure how I can help you here in that case.
 * I retried all the authentication steps at my end, and they went through without
   any issues. Additionally, nothing has changed with the authentication process
   for Flickr for the past several years, and even recently I had users successfully
   go through authentication. So I am sure that the code and the setup instructions
   are still correct and valid.
 * At which step are you getting the error? What is the URL of the error page when
   you are getting the error?
 * Lastly, do you need authentication for your setup? I see that you have been able
   to include at least 2 galleries on your page ([https://www.feddi.org/galeria/](https://www.feddi.org/galeria/))
 * Hi again,
   The URL is: [https://www.flickr.com/services/oauth/authorize?oauth_token=&perms=read](https://www.flickr.com/services/oauth/authorize?oauth_token=&perms=read)
 * So it turns out I didn’t need authentication and can use the widget for setting
   up the gallery. So as long as the albums and photos are set to public in Flickr
   we are good? Thank you!
 * If your albums are public, you definitely don’t need authentication.
 * Fortunately we are not going to work with private albums, so I’ll mark it as
   resolved. Thanks.
