# Obfuscate doesn’t do anything

 * Hi, appreciate the plugin, thanks.
 * I am trying to use the obfuscate option with CF7_get_custom_field shortcode
 * Like so:
    `[dynamichidden dynamichidden-x "CF7_get_custom_field key='email' obfuscate
   ='on'"]`
 * But it just simply doesn’t do anything. The HTML value still says [test@email.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/obfuscate-doesnt-do-anything/test@email.com?output_format=md)
   if I enter [test@email.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/obfuscate-doesnt-do-anything/test@email.com?output_format=md)
   so if I need to use this for adding a dynamic recipient “To” email in the CF7
   form and I add a sensitive email address everyone can see it.
 * What is the expected behaviour here? I spent the last 2 hours trying to find 
   an explanation or a documentation with examples but no luck.
 * So I checked out the code tried copying the code to a simple php page and output
   an “obfuscated” script, but the result was that the string came out unchanged
   both in the html and displayed.
 * I am confused.
