# Odd problem with split posts

 * I use index.php as both the index and single post templates, yet an image bar
   I have on the left side of my page doesn’t show up on individual pages. Anyone
   know what gives?

 * Even on your main page there is a lot of errors in the sidebar – you should clean
   that up first (instead of bumping, which is very annoying and bad manner, bad
   karma!)

 * The errors weren’t there when I posted this yesterday; I was messing around with
   a few other things afterwards, so it’s unrelated.
 * And yeah, I know bumping is annoying, but I’m at my wit’s end here, and don’t
   know where else I could get advice 😛

 * The thing is: most helpers as they come online go to the “topics with no replies”
   queue.
    Bumping your post = successfully removing it from that queue, creating
   the impression it has been answered. (I like it; it’s like automatically punishing
   the bumpers…)
 * Re your issue: are you sure there are no conditional tags in your sidebar that
   would prevent the content of the sidebar to be displayed?

 * Ah, that’s the ticket. I have a basicish concept of how PHP/programming in general
   works, but I’m learning a lot as I go along here, so I figured I was overlooking
   something small.
 * In any case, thanks for the help. And apologies for the bumping.
