    Hi,

You’ve a great product and I like the support you give on this forum.

I need help getting the Google Shopping feed and Local Inventory feed to display the Product id in the same way so that they link.

I’ve got our Google Shopping Feed and Local Inventory Feed (LIF) uploading to Google Merchant. The Primary Feed displays all our products correctly. The LIF holds all the products on the file it uploads to Google Merchant but an error appears in Google Merchant i.e.
“Offer does not exist” “The update could not be matched to an offer. Please make sure to use the identifier of an existing offer and check that the country of sale of the feed is correct.”

I think I have identified the problem i.e.
The Google Shopping Feed Maps “g:id” to “Product id” and on the upload file displays “woocommerce_gpf_24028” (as an example), but the LIF maps “item id” to “Product id” and displays on the upload file “24028” (again, as an example). How can I get both files to display the Product id in the same way ie “24028”?

Many thanks for your support and I hope you are keeping away from the Corona virus šŸ™‚

    Andrew

Having looked at it more I now note that the Primary Feed sends a file to Google Merchant from your plugin with –

<g:id>29583</g:id>, which is what I would expect.

But when I upload the file to Google Merchant, process it in Google Merchant and then download the equivalent file it nows shows the Product id as –
    <g:ID>woocommerce_gpf_29583</g:ID>

How do I stop Google Merchant from changing how the product id is displayed?

    Thanks

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us. Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with your feeds.

Google doesn’t change product ID’s itself so it must be coming from somewhere. Are you sure you have refetched and reprocessed your product feed in your merchant center so Google is looking at the most recent version of your feed(s)?

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Each new fetch I create I alter one of my products first (e.g. add a word to the description). I then download the fetched file and look for the additional word, if it is there I know the latest file was used by Google.

    I’ll re-run my process i.e.
    a) add a word
    b) refresh the feed in wordpress, check the output file and confirm the additional word is there.
    c) Go to Google Merchant and fetch the latest file, then re-process the file. Check the products list for the additional word and check the product id.

You never know it may work this time. If it doesn’t I can send you the relevant files to review.

    Fingers crossed!

Hi, the fault remains :(. I carried out the change as described above and know that the file in Google Merchant is the latest feed.

    Hi,

Then Google is still retrieving an old product feed of you. Our plugin also doesn’t add the CDATA stuff in the feed.

See paragraph 7 of this tutorial where you can change the feed location in your merchant center: https://adtribes.io/setting-up-your-first-google-shopping-product-feed/

    Problem solved.

    I’m ‘an idiot’.

I’d tell you what the error was caused by but I’m not going to publicly embarrass myself.
