 * I searched and the only thing i could see on the board is an application called
WAMP which acts like server software, but on your PC.
 * Is there any other alternative to be able to have a running versin of what i’m
working on without doing dynamic changes for all to see?
 * I would like to change themes, but mine is intensely packed with extraneous stuff,
and i want to make sure i don’t loose anything (that’s why i want to move to
   a 3 column theme).
 * Thanks in advance!

 * No, if you want to work with WordPress offline, you will still need a server
   to serve the content.
 * If you still don’t want to install a server environment, you could edit the theme
files offline in a plain text editor, but you would need to upload and view them
   online to see any changes.

 * I looked far and wide for a solution to having a local version of WordPress.
One that would be easy to sync with the online version and one that could be
edited even when not connected to the Internet. The best solution for me was
to pull together various pieces of software to create a “portable wordpress”.
I can even run this off of a USB drive from any computer I happen to have access
   to.
 * And in the spirit of blogging, I posted instructions here:

 * Have you tried [w.bloggar](http://wbloggar.com/)? I believe it works with WordPress.
 * Oops. I’m too sleepy – it only allows you to write posts offline, not preview
   new themes.
