# Optimizing HTML and CSS not working?

* Hello,
* I have installed Autoptimize plugin and I enabled “Optimize CSS code” and “Optimize
HTML code”.
I saved the changes, emptied cache and tried to hard refresh. I
even opened a private window.
* But I can see in page source that the code has not been changed, it doesn’t seem
to be working.
* Am I doing something wrong?

* either a page caching issue (make sure to clear all page caches you might have)
or else a plugin/theme conflict of some kind (disable/ re-enable plugins and
if need be change themes briefly to try to find the culprit) cyshield.
