 * I really need help!
    I get a WordPress database error each time someone clicks
   on a website link. I have repaired the DB tables, restarted the server, reinstalled
   WP5, turned off all plugins, but I cannot clear the error. I don’t know what
   else to do, though the site is still working. The error message is 1.15M characters
   long so I only give the start and end here:
 * ” WordPress database error: [Got a packet bigger than ‘max_allowed_packet’ bytes]

   UPDATE `wp-options` SET `option_value` = ‘a:5238:{i:0;b:0;s:41:\”better-wp-security/
   better-wp-security.php\”;a:2:{i:0;s:10:\”ITSEC_Core\”;i:1;s:16:\”handle_uninstall\”;}
   s:13:\”uninstall.php\”;s:0:\”\”;s:11:\”counter.php\”;s:23:\”count_per_day_uninstall\”;
   s:51:\”virtual-robotstxt-littlebizzy/virtual-robotstxt.php\”;a:2:{i:0;s:20:\”
   VRTRBT_Admin_Notices\”;i:1;s:9:\”uninstall\”;}s:27:\”wp-optimize/wp-optimize.
   php\”;s:21:\”wpo_uninstall_actions\”;s:43:\”server-status-littlebizzy/server-
   status.php\”;a:2:{i:0;s:20:\”SVRSTS_Admin_Notices\”;i:1;s:9:\”uninstall\”;}s:
   33:\”classic-editor/classic-editor.php\”;a:2:………. …. 1.15M character delete here…….……“
   Cache_Enabler\”;i:1;s:12:\”on_uninstall\”;}}’ WHERE `option_name` = ‘uninstall_plugins’”
   END Message
 * Any suggests are gratefully received.
    Regards and thanks, Angus

 * The cause of the error is `Got a packet bigger than ‘max_allowed_packet’`. You
   need to address that. There are ways to increase the packet size if you google
   that error, but the question is why is a query so large?
 * Do you have a plugin or theme that might indicate the creator of this entry?
   Does `q8moptions` ring any bells? Anything `q8m` related?

 * @sterndat Thanks Steven
 * q8moptions = wp-options.
    I think the query is large because of an error. Something
   went wrong yesterday as all has been working fine till last night. In the redacted
   message it refers to deleted plugins and plugins which are turned off all the
   time. I recently set the memory at 512Mb but it is still working at 256. Honestly
   I don’t think changing that will solve it…… even 512 may not be enough with the
   error. At the moment I have no idea where to look for a fix.
 * FYI, I also get this error – and have for a while:
    “[Fri Mar 22 19:54:34.397048
   2019] [php7:warn] [pid 15762] [client 46.229.168.148:64978] PHP Warning: Error
   while sending QUERY packet. PID=15762 in /home/xxxx/wp-includes/wp-db.php on
   line 2007”
 * I don’t think it is related to this main one… as the main one is new.

 * This has nothing to do with PHP memory. Again, what plugin (or theme) might be
   related to “q8”?

 * I changed the name of the standard options table from ‘wp-options’ to ‘8qmoptions’
   years ago.
    It is a db change, not plugin related.

 * Hmmm… how many plugins do you have installed?
 * Try deleting that row from your options table.

 * I have tried removing all the plugins but no difference.
    It is actually referring
   to some old plugins which I no have…..
 * With all plugins off – the error is still there.
 * The main issue seems to be to do with :
 * “count_per_day_uninstall\”;s:161:\”home/hiskingdomprophecy.com/wp-content/cache/
   cache-enabler/www.hiskingdomprophecy.com/the-presence-and-love-of-our-king/counter.
   php\”;s:23:\
    “count_per_day_uninstall\”;s:148:\”home/hiskingdomprophecy.com/
   wp-content/cache/cache-enabler/www.hiskingdomprophecy.com/beginning-of-sorrows/
   counter.php\”;s:23:\ “count_per_day_uninstall\… etc. etc. ”
 * That repeats for the whole cache of thousands of posts…..
 * To clarify, which row out to be deleted from the options table?
    It has about
   1000 lines….

 * Delete the row with the key “uninstall_plugins”. I tried that on a couple of
   my sites and it didn’t break them. 🙂

 * Hi Steve,
    Thank you so very much. The site is still running and the messages
   have stopped. I guess WP5 will now remake and repopulate that table sometime
   soon. Now I just have to figure out where the “wp-db.php on line 2007” error
   comes from. Your help is greatly appreciated! Regards and thanks, Angus
