# Optional Excerpt

 * I’m using shortcodes to display excerpts on a pace. I looked through your code
   and it looks as if optional excerpts should be used if they exist but I am having
   no luck. The default excerpt is always displayed. Is there a solution to this?

 * I think I figured it out. Had to add optional_excerpt=”true” to shortcode, right?
