# Ordering sidebars

 * hello, I see there is a feature within the “options” to order by setting a numeric
   value.
    A) how does this work? B) I have tried lower number & higher numbers 
   to rearrange the order of multiple sidebars but the side bar order doesn’t change.
   C) the default appears to be alphabetically sorted In some cases I have 3 or

 * a) The “order” option is used to determine which sidebars are fetched first on
   the frontend. Eg. if you have 2 sidebars with overlapping conditions, the one
   with a lower “order” number will be loaded first.
    The sidebars will not be ordered
   by this number on the Widgets screen.
 * b) Can you explain your use case in more detail?
 * c) When loading sidebars on the frontend, they are considered in this priority:
   order, handle, publish date
    Eg. if two sidebars have the same “order” (0 is 
   default), sidebars that replace their host will be loaded before sidebars that
   merge with their host.
