 * Hello,
 * I’m looking to overlap some of my image elements in order to give my website
   a much more authentic look. I’m currently using the X theme which has been a
   good experience thus far but I want some of the row images to overlap.
 * Some examples of sites that do this well:
    [http://www.angrybirds.com/](http://www.angrybirds.com/)
   [http://www.fcinq.com/](http://www.fcinq.com/) [http://www.fubiz.net/](http://www.fubiz.net/)
 * I’m new at this so how can I make this happen? If you need more clarification
   let me know.

 * I’m not familiar with the X theme, but you are probably looking to set the background
   property on a container so you can place another image on top. You will need
   to understand some [basics regarding CSS](http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp),
   and then learn how to [set the background property](http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_background.asp)
   of the container or section that holds the image. If the theme doesn’t have a
   custom CSS option, and you haven’t created a [, then you will need to install a ](http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes)
   [Custom CSS plugin](https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=custom+css) so
   you can add your CSS rules. You should also learn how to use a web debugger like
   [Firebug](http://getfirebug.com/) or [Chrome Developer Tools](https://developers.google.com/chrome-developer-tools/)
   so you can see what selectors to use for your CSS rules.
 * If you post a link to your site, I can offer some examples.

 * Thanks for the response, I’m creating a test website [http://bakesspectrum.wpengine.com/](http://bakesspectrum.wpengine.com/)
 * As you can see I’m trying to get some elements to line up with no luck thus far.
   That being said is their anyway for me to check exact measurements so I can create
   the image sin photoshop to later upload?
