overlay text on slider

hello, I’ve been reading some posts and trying to figure out how to accomplish overlaying text onto the slides. Basically, I’m trying to figure out if it is possible to add text and subsequently ‘clickable’ text as an overlay on top of the images. Your link: http://jleuze.com/plugins/meteor-slides/customizing-the-slideshow-template/ is clear on how to add a caption but I would like to do more.
