# P2 theme posts still ping?

 * I installed P2 on an old domain of mine. I wrote 3 posts from the on page admin
   posts textarea, and I have not seen any cache updates on google. Does posting
   from the P2 theme not ping search engines in the way posting from wp-admin does?
   With my other blog I notice the same day or day after posting that google has
   re-crawled my site because of a recent post.

 * wordpress pinging sites has nothing to do with the google cache.
 * google has it’s own system of how or when it updates your cache, and honestly,
   the “cache” doesn’t really matter since most people will go directly to your 
   page.
 * it’s strongly dependent on how popular your site is, to how often it gets updated
   in the engines.

 * I see. so P2 does ping each post as it’s posted, even though it is not posting
   through the wp-admin?
