# Package Weight

 * I need to add extra weight to the total weight of my Cart weight. Is it possible
   to do it?

 * For which reasons do you need extra weight? Is it to add some shipping cost?
 * If you need to adjust some shipping cost, and currently using flat rate, you 
   could adjust the base cost for it, or based on the classes.
 * Else, you could use a plugin like [Table Rate Shipping](https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/table-rate-shipping/)
   to adjust shipping costs.

 * Hello,
 * thank you for your response.
 * For every shipment, there is an extra packaging which weights 400g and I have
   to calculate that cost in the total.
 * What I did so far is I created a dummy product, which is automatically added 
   to the cart and has a price of 0.0 and weight of 400g. It’s not an optimal solution
   but I found nothing else at the moment.
 * I am not quite sure if this is what I can get from the suggested plugin.
