 * Maybe I am missing something but there are elements in the theme I cannot control
   or make changes to. For instance:
 *  .navbar-default .navbar-nav > li > a:hover, .navbar-default .navbar-nav > li
   > a:focus {
    color: #FF5252; }
 * When I inspect this element it is derived from the page ID and changes in any
   of the CSS files has no effect.
 * Where can I make changes to these elements?
 * Thanks

 * sure you can; if you don’t see them in your style.css, add them.
 * please respond with a link to your site and some additional specifics

 * I did add them to the style.css and the custom style css and the bootstrap.css
   but they get overwritten on the page.

 * In the sidebar, things like the red line. I cannot change the color, remove it,
   nothing.
 * When I inspect the element I get two versions. On top is one that gets added
   and the bottom I added in style.css
 * #secondary .widget-title::after {
    background-color: #FF5252; content: “”; position:
   absolute; width: 50px; display: block; height: 4px; bottom: -15px; } #secondary.
   widget-title::after { display: none; }

 * just change “background-color” to inherit.

 * I am referring to the red dash inside the right sidebar. It is part of the css
   code I posted earlier. I know what to do to fix it but the page overwrites the
   css files.

 * on my local PC and uploading it to the server. Custom CSS, style.css and bootstrap.
   css I can see them in the styles window but there is always another that points
   to the page source and overrides all other css
