Page Menu / Headline "issue"

    Hello,
    I’m in the process of moving a site to WP. So far so good. I have created pages and a custom menu structure. The menu names are being used as the headlines in each of the pages. That is fine for some but not for all pages. Some titles are just keyword to keep them short but in the page I would need them be more complete.

    I was wondering if I could use the “Title Attribute” instead for the titles or some other method rather that quoting out the headline in the corresponding php-file and adding them as a headline in the page itself?

    I hope you understand what I mean… Thanks for your feedback and help if possible,

    I’m using the Custom Community 1.6.2 Theme. Where I quoted out the title in the header.php. Otherwise nothing modified.

    Try using full titles for your page names. Then create a custom menu (via Appearance->Menus) and use the dropdown for each page/menu item to create a “short name” for the menus.

    Thanks for the feedback. That sounds like a nice idea, but when I rename the “Navigation Label” it also changes the page name for the same name.

    I don’t seem to be able to dissociate the two. Shame because that is all I would want to to…. any more ideas?

    ahh, I correct… it did it! It did change the “page name” in the menu section but not in the title… that’s good enough for me!
