# Page redirection question

 * I have a quick question. I’ve noticed that on my site with the %postname% permalink
   structure selected, if I type in the URL semi-incorrectly WordPress seems to 
   know what I wanted and redirects to the correct URL.
 * For example, if I have a child page of a parent, and forget to put the parent’s
   name:
 * mysite.com/child-page/
 * it redirects to
 * mysite.com/parent-page/child-page/
 * Does anyone know how WordPress does this? Does it do it through 301 redirects?
