Page user recognition errors (intermittent)
-
Hi There –
I’m fairly new to WordPress and do not have coding experience.
I have used theme Twenty Twenty-Five for my site and have used the Forminator and Control Access plugins to create user registration and login form that are meant to control access to several of the pages within the site (you must be a logged in subscribe to access certain pages).
While this appears to be working, I am running into an issue where the site recognizes uses are logged in on some pages, but not others. This is independent of the control plugin as I can see the WordPress menu bar at the top on some of my pages and not others.
What is worse is that the pages that don’t recognize the user seem to change depending on who/how the user logged in. For example, in my test account, all pages correctly recognized me as a logged in user when I logged in from my phone (Iphone, Safari browser). When I logged in user an incognito Chrome window from a PC, 3 of 12 pages didn’t recognize me as logged in. A partner on the website used a private edge browser and had 2 pages not recognize him as logged in (1 different and 1 the same as my 3). And if we repeat the PC login process, we often get different pages failing to recognize us even when the steps taken are the same.
This is wreaking havoc with the content control feature as the controlled access pages won’t allow access if they are the pages failing to recognize the user. It is also preventing the “hide when user is logged in” function from hiding the login and registration forms when those pages are impacted.
Anyone have an idea of what is causing the intermittent login recognition error.
