 * i haven’t used wordpress in quite some time, and i installed the script on the
   site to see if it would work with a new site i have, and seems to be pretty decent.
   i was wondering if it’s possible to have a page display certain posts. say i 
   want to assign “category 1” to be displayed on “page 1” and “category 2” on “
   page 2”. is that possible with wordpress?

 * What you’re describing is what category archives are. You can have posts assigned
   to categories like “bunnies”, “kittens” and “spiders” and have a list of those
   categories. When someone clicks on a category link they see all the posts listed
   on a category archive page.
 * You can also use tags to do something similar.
