# Pages not loading page errors

 * I added some new images to my site and upgraded to latest wordpress version now
   the menu has stopped working! The only menu option that will work is home. All
   others bring up a 'page not found message' I have refreshed the permalinks
   and optimized the store but still the menu does not work How can fix this?

 * -Try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting and renaming
   your WordPress .htaccess file.
 * – If that works, then try reading [Using_Permalinks ](http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks)
   before setting a custom permalink structure again.

 * Thanks. I have reset permalinks. That did not work. How do I rename .htaccess
   file?

 * If clearing or resetting your Permalinks does not alleviate the issue, this could
   be attributed to anything from a web server configuration to a bad WordPress 
   update.
 * Try **MANUALLY** updating. [Download WordPress](https://wordpress.org/download/)
   again and unzip it. Access your server via [SFTP or FTP](https://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients),
   or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting
   provider’s documentation for specifics on these), and delete then replace your
   copies of everything on the server **except** the wp-config.php file and the /
   wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively
   replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Please
   read the [Manual Update](http://codex.wordpress.org/Updating_WordPress#Manual_Update)
   directions first.

 * Thank you for your help. Reset permalinks to default again then realised there
   was a conflict with Babble plug in so disabled it and it worked 😊
