    The best way to go about this is to use a payment plugin. There are several of them, and we can’t recommend one more than another.

    After they pay, you redirect them to a confirmation page with the newsletter signup form.

    This would only work if you want people to pay once for your newsletter. What if you need people to subscribe to your newsletter, say on a monthly basis or a yearly basis?

    I would look into WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads who have subscription payments available.

    These plugins can probably add or remove your clients from your WordPress users. This might require a customization by a developer though.
