Paragraph block missing in WP Editor

    Greetings,

    I am new to WP and experience all kind of problems. On top of that, today I have tried to experiment with my pages/posts and found that ‘paragraph block’ is missing in the list of available blocks and can’t be added, here is the screen: https://www.screencast.com/t/3CMyBXaAIJNw

    I can add heading, images, groups, everything but not the paragraphs! Meanswhile, somedays ago the ‘paragraphs’ were there and I was adding them https://www.screencast.com/t/r3goFc1F

    I have Astra free theme, done all the edits with WP editor, standard list of pre-installed plugins (no TinyMCE which was responsible for similar issue with another user here). Please suggest how to return my paragraph blocks. Thank you!

    You are probably using Block editor. I would suggest trying the Classic editor by installing the classic editor plugin: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/classic-editor/

    If that does not solve your issue then I’d suggest asking for support in the Astra themes support forum https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/theme/astra/. This might be a theme issue.

    THank you for suggestion, will try. But is there any way to fix it with Block Editor?

    I have worked with Classic editor before with custom-build website, but never used it customize page layout, etc. Can you enlighten me does Classic editor has same functionality in terms of adding blocks/images/headers where I want them? It’s available with Block Editor (except that paragraph issues I described in my first post) but I am not sure about the Classic…

    This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

    If you can install plugins, install “Health Check”: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/health-check/ On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site. You can then use its admin bar menu to turn on/off plugins and themes one at a time.

    As Steve said you can try using health check plugin or you can contact the themes support community as I suggested yesterday, personally I’m not familiar with the Astra theme and I don’t use block editor yet on any sites that I own or manage so that’s those are the best solutions I can provide.

    Hi Davood and Steeve,

    Thank you for suggestions and answering so quickly. I had to switch to other issues until now so sorry for late reply.

    I wanted you to have an idea of plugins installed on my site so here is the screenshot https://www.screencast.com/t/8eGeVRCr as you can see they are just a few. I have Astra basic theme so it’s also an unlikely suspect.

    Before I tried your suggestions, I have lost another hour going through Youtube staff on various problems with WP until I found a hint and used it to solve my problem. Actually the suggestion was as in your post – skip Block Editor and go to Classic. What I did was typing the ‘classic’ in the search box when picking a ‘block’ I need: https://www.screencast.com/t/JJUV3xbnI3p which I did purely out of curiosity.

    To my surprise, after that I gota block with ‘classic’ set of tools including ‘paragraph’ block: https://www.screencast.com/t/WDcbZUGpo Note that I have 2 types of blocks at the same post: (1) a classic one which enables paragraphs and (2) the new type of block coming from the new editor.

    I don’t know if that leads to any problem in future but I will settle them as they arize. All these experimenting looks like a great waste of time, actually, but in the absence of other solutions for building websites quickly at a low cost, I will continue climbing my not so steep learning curve with WP.
