Parse Error Coding HELP – Please

I was trying to delete the post dates on my blog posts in my Coraline theme nd accidentally took out another line of coding…..now this comes up:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘endif’ (T_ENDIF) in /home/dapotter/public_html/wp-content/themes/coraline/loop.php on line 84

What is the coding that should be there? PLEASE & THANK YOU!

Re-upload a fresh, unpacked, copy of the theme’s folder to wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

then I’d have to start all the changes over again though……

You shouldn’t be editing the theme itself. Create a child theme for your changes. Or install a custom CSS plugin.

Just need that line of coding and I’ll leave it alone then get someone to set up a child theme.

I closed the other thread since this one already had replies. You can just re-download the original theme if you need to restore the file.

First, set up a child theme. It’s really not hard, you can do it. 🙂

Once your child theme is set up, make a copy of loop.php from your parent theme and place it in the child theme folder.

Try adding back your changes to loop.php in small pieces, testing it in between each change to figure out where you made the syntax error.
