# Parse error: syntax error

 * I find myself running into this error message at least once when I finish setting
   up a WordPress site. The error reads like this:
 * Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home/jazminem/public_html/wp-content/
   themes/expositio/index.php on line 46
 * yet there is no such ‘<‘ error on the line 46. In previous experience this error
   goes away after a couple days but I really hate having to wait for the error 
   to fix itself, how can I make this go away?

 * Does this happen if you deactivate all your plugins? Have you tried switching
   themes to see if it could be the theme causing the issue?

 * Hi Jose,
 * Ya the other themes seem to work, but this is the second time this is happening
   and I haven’t touched the code. I’m wondering what glitch goes off as one day
   it seems fine and then suddenly it has this error.

 * It sounds like the theme is doing something odd. Have you tried contacting the
   theme’s author about it?
