# Parse error, syntax error

 * Hi, I’ve just downloaded a theme and uploaded it right without errors via FTP.
   But just when I upon activating it I get this error.
 * `Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}' in /home/u967421118/public_html/wp-
   content/themes/whip/inc/functions-init.php on line 1`

 * Try switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder
   inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using
   [FTP](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients) or whatever file management application
   your host provides.

 * Any chance I could still use the recent theme I’ve uploaded? I was able to log
   in back on my dashboard and switched to twentyeleven theme with your instructions.
   Renamed the theme backed to it’s original folder name.

 * Not until the issue is fixed or you can upload a fresh copy of the theme.
