• Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘*’ in /home/kamer/public_html/wp-content/themes/hatch/functions.php on line 159

I am unable to identify this error as line 159 is empty. I tried to delete one section of code as suggested in another support forumn and now entire site is gone. Very frustrating. I have tried to reinstall the original theme “Hatch” and WP will not allow me to do anything without receiving this error over and over.

ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED PLEASE!

  • Download a new copy of the theme to your local computer – then using FTP or other file manager access, replace that file in the theme folder.

(Don’t panic – your site will be fine 🙂 ).

Try switching to the default theme by deleting the wp-content/themes/hatch folder using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides. Then re-upload a fresh copy of the Hatch theme.

WPyogi — Can I just say THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I have worked very hard to learn WP on my own and in the past few months I have only had one or two questions which have NEVER been answered correctly on these support forums until YOU! I was literally about to CRY a minute ago! Haha.

    It’s back!

NOW — If anyone can correctly answer my original question that started this, I will REALLY be happy!

Do you mind viewing a gallery page? That is what is causing the issues.

The original theme “Hatch” has a built in “lightbox” feature which wasn’t working the way I wanted so I installed a lightbox plugin that works. Problem is the “fancybox” feature of Hatch causes the error.

If you click on a thumbnail “two layers open” as example open a thumbnail and then click the x to close and another layer is underneath.

ANY SUGGESTIONS? Otherwise I am happy with all of the edits I have made to the theme.

Again thank you both for your help!
