# Parse Error while installing Theme

 * Hey friends,
 * I’m running into a hiccup installing the OneEngine theme ([https://www.enginethemes.com/themes/oneengine/](https://www.enginethemes.com/themes/oneengine/))
   to my website. I’m using Readyhosting. I can’t update to WordPress 4.1 because
   their php version is 4.4.8. Is that the problem?
 * I receive this error:
    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting
   T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in\\nawinfs04\home\users\web\b2701\
   rh.mydomaininfo\wp-content\themes\oneengine\functions.php on line 73
 * Line 73 of the functions.php file is: public function he_register_required_plugins(){

 * Oh but you are using WP3.1.3 – you are VERY likely to get hacked using that outdated
   a version!

 * And yes, I’d guess that any current theme may not work with that old a version.
   But you’d need to ask the developer of that theme about any theme problems.

 * Thanks for the quick reply. So basically, if Readyhosting can’t update their 
   php when I contact them, I shouldn’t use them for WP?
 * I’m helping some friends with a website they already had hosted on Readyhosting,
   so I was hoping to stay with what they had setup.

 * I sure wouldn’t. But see if they can update PHP – most hosts actually force users
   to stay a lot more current than that – that version is 7 years old!
