 * Hi,
 * I’m a WP **rookie**! I volunteered to update an old homepage. In WP I updated
   some days ago some plug-ins and moved from PHP 5.6 to 7.0 (since the page did
   not work with newer PHP). Still using WP 5.2.19 since I was afraid the site crashes
   if I update to 6.4.2.
 * However today I was asked to install a plug-in _„accordions-or-faqs“_ what I 
   unfortunately did. Now I can not access WP any more with the error:
 * ParseError thrown
   syntax error, unexpected ‘)’
 * I could access via FTP but don’t know which files to modify…any suggestions?
 * Thanks a lot in advance, still a little bit in panic mode 😉

 * Rename `accordions-or-faqs` directory under `/wp-content/plugins`. Your website
   should then work if the problem was caused by that plugin.
 * You can also [enable debugging mode](https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/debugging-in-wordpress/)
   and [capture logs](https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/debugging-in-wordpress/#wp_debug_log)
   to get a better idea about what’s happening.

   May I ask you one more question pls: Do you think 
   an upgrade from WP 5.2.19 to latest version 6.4.2 should work?

 * I wouldn’t suggest updating WP on the live website. You should create a staging
   website to test the updates.
