Password Form

I ran into a problem on the site I am working on. The sites visibility is password protected. The home page loads up and I enter the password and hit submit. It then just goes to a blank page. I then close the page and reenter the site address. It then loads up properly and it does not require me to enter the password to get into the site. I spoke with our web host and we believe the issue may be with the password protection option. Not sure if anyone else has run into this issue.
