Password – Submit / Dead Site

    Dear All,

    PLEASE HELP! 🙂

    I created a wordpress website for my business a couple of months ago. After the installation of some basic plugins I’ve started to use Woocommerce and built a basic webshop around the site.
    For months it worked perfectly, but starting with yesterday morning the site simply disappeared. I get the same result for the URL of the main page (blckest.com) and for the admin dashboard (wp-admin). It gives me a white screen with the following text on the top left corner:

    Password: ___________________ Submit

    I am really out of ides for now. Attempted to reset the admin password in myphpadmin… didn’t help at all.

    One more thing that can be important. If I click on the “Check Privileges” action on the one and only database (wpapp) it drops me back, saying I don’t have the necessary privileges.

    Any idea from anyone?

    That looks like it’s from something your host has done, not WordPress. Please check with their tech support.

    Thanks a lot for the quick response.
    I had a chat with the techies on the afternoon and I was told that my site was hacked (or what) earlier in December and that caused the issue.

    I have two problems with this explanation:
    – They told me that this happened in the first half of Dec. If so, I don’t get why this happened at that time.
    – Anyhow, I should be able to reach the WP dashboard somehow

    Get a fresh cup of coffee, take a deep breath and carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

    If you’re unable to clean your site(s) successfully, there are reputable organizations that can clean your sites for you. Sucuri and Wordfence are a couple.
