Perfect theme for a child theme

    OK guys, here is my question:

    Is there a full fledged wordpress theme out there that is free and ideal for creating child themes for? Obviously if your creating websites for companies and brands NONE of the default themes are going to work (atelast for the companies I work for). Therefore its “Child theme time” any ideas coming from other master CSS-ers? I am not new to wordpress and I have made some themes and even worked on some plugins….but whats up with an out of the box ready for a child theme….theme….

    That’s not really true.

    If you look into the Twenty Eleven source you’ll see that it’s not only customizable like crazy in CSS (hey, even I can modify the CSS in a child theme) you’ll also see that the functions.php file has safeties built in so you can redefine the existing function definitions.

    If you’re looking for a plain theme to customize CSS-wise, give Toolbox a once over.

    The Hybrid theme is also good for that too. Out of the box it’s pretty plain and is a good basis for a child theme.

    anywhooooo, thanks for the reply. I guess child themes for twenty eleven is the best way to go.
