# Permalink category problem

 * Hi,
 * I have the following permalink configuration:
 * `/%category%/%postname%`
 * When I add a category to the menu (Blog, for example), instead of linking to
 * `www.mysite.com/blog` (wich works)
 * it links to
 * `www.mysite.com/category/blog` (wich doesn’t work)
 * However every post on that category, has the right link, like:
 * `www.mysite.com/blog/new-post`
 * What am I doing wrong?

 * and add category(s) to the post(s)…
 * This will allow you to find and link to all posts in the category or the single
   post…combined with the categories default menu or a custom menu, this will serve
   well for both site navigation and pretty permalinks structure for SEO.
 * You can see this working on my linked to blog (click my name).
