# Permalink idea

 * I’d really like to see a field in the edit post screen called “permalink string.”
   
   That way, for an entry titled like “You killed my father, prepare to die” a permalink
   could be: /archives/2003/princess-bride instead of /archives/2003/you-killed-
   my-father-prepare The version I’m recommending (via this new “permalink string”
   field) would be: – shorter – a better summary for readers / linkers – probably
   easier to remember for admins, too – also likely to rank higher in Google What
   do you think?

 * We’re going to be adding this to the advanced edit screen, there’s just some 
   logic stuff that has to be worked out.
