 * This week a user told me, that he gets a warning when accessing our site via
   the link in the notification email.
 * After some research I found out, that the link to the daily post was preceeded
   with https:// instead of [http://](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/permalink-in-notification-mail-sometimes-with-https/page/2/?output_format=md).
   Since our hoster uses a shared certificate, a user gets a warning when accessing
   the site via SSL.
 * As far as I can remember the links to our post were http:// links only, otherwise
   this would have happend a lot earlier. We are up and running for about 2 years
   and are doing all regular updates of the plugin.
 * The next day the notification email went out with an http:// link, today’s mail
   was https:// again.
 * Any idea what this could be and how I could force non-SSL links?
 * Thanks, Georg

 * Today’s the second day in a row that the URLs got mailed OK. So I guess the hack(?)
   is working now as expected. I’ll update you if for some reason it should fail.
   Thanks again!

 * Thanks!
 * I have the same problem, do I put the code in my theme child-functions? Or within
   the plugin files?

 * @Anna-Karina
 * A better place is in a custom site plugin for your site. If you are new to this
   use the excellent [Pluginception](https://wordpress.org/plugins/pluginception/)
   to created the correct file structure and then just add the code above.
