# Permalink Issue Crashed Site

 * Stupid problem that I created for myself.
 * I was in Settings > Permalink and was messing around with different options. 
   I accidentally placed in the bottom section of “Category Base” and “Tag Base”
   text without wrapping it in % and hit update. Now I am unable to log into the
   back end of wordpress, or view the site!
 * Any help on reversing this issue would be greatly appreciated, since I cannot
   get any work done on it till I can actually view the website and access the backend
   of wordpress!

 * YOu will have to acces your mistake via using php my admin
 * YOu will have to edit some ??? field int the wp-options table; referring to the
   permalink.
 * broser the options table to look for that field.

 * What text did you enter? Nothing you enter there should prevent you from accessing
   the WP admin — if it is, that’s a bug.

 * If I remember correctly, it made them “category” and “tags”… i mostly just wanted
   to see how exactly the URL would change to the different settings. I didn’t think
   it would crash the entire site.
 * Where is the field in the wp-options table about permalinks? I’m not finding 
   that

 * I then found out that the wp_options table contained an option: permalink_structure
   that had an option_value containing the file pattern

 * I had a similar problem, but I cannot access ANY file in my wordpress file after
   messing with the permalinks. Is there a file I can edit myself to set the default
   back?
