# permalink issues

 * I’ve been searching the forums all day for help, and have found similar problems,
   but no clear solution.
 * I’m trying to set up my permalinks, but am having some issues.
 * I want to use this structure: /%category%/%postname%/ and it works fine for most
   of my posts. But when I go to a category view, the first page works, but subsequent
   pages don’t.
 * I have tried deleting the contents of the htaccess file and the updating the 
   permalink structure but it doesn’t help the issue.
 * Any help is greatly appreciated…

 * Nothings coming up when I go to the assignment category. Just black. Do you have
   a link to a post in the assignment category?

 * now, it works when it’s entered as [http://www.teamassignment.com/category/assignments](http://www.teamassignment.com/category/assignments)
 * I understand now that /category is necessary for the url (uri?) to work correctly.
   I thought using the top-level category would fix the problem (it’s supposed to
   remove /category) but maybe I’m linking incorrectly for that to work…Hrmph…right
   now I have the links like:
 * [Assignments](https://wordpress.org/assignments/?output_format=md)
 * I tried changing the bas in the htaccess to /. but that didn’t seem to solve 
   the problem either…I feel like I’m missing something obvious…

 * Do you have `wp_list-categories` in your sidebar?
    I don’t see any links. [http://www.teamassignment.com/?s=test](http://www.teamassignment.com/?s=test)
