# permalink modifications – help needed!

 * I recently changed from the default permalink structure to the custom permalink
   structure:
 * /%postname%-%post_id%/
 * which works well!
 * On one of my pages I changed the name of the post to include a new word.
 * For example, went from “post name” to “some new post name”
 * the url however did not change along with the post name change.
 * For example, it stayed as blog.com/post-name/
 * instead of changing to blog.com/some-new-post-name/
 * I need the the url to be blog.com/some-new-post-name/, _any ideas how to accomplish
   this? _
 * Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!!!
 * (FYI, My site is not indexed yet so a little modification before release should
   be ok)

    right above the editor is the permalink edit field
   edit it to suit you save permalink save post

 * Can you describe how it breaks? Do you get a 404 error?

 * The original url was:
 * [http://www.iassc.org/certifications/black-belt-certification/](http://www.iassc.org/certifications/black-belt-certification/)
 * I modified the page name (Post) to be:
 * “six sigma black belt certification” in hopes that it would automatically change
   the url to:
 * [http://www.iassc.org/certifications/six-sigma-black-belt-certification/](http://www.iassc.org/certifications/six-sigma-black-belt-certification/)
 * but it did not.
 * So then I modified the portion of the permalink to be:
 * [http://www.iassc.org/certifications/six-sigma-black-belt-certification/](http://www.iassc.org/certifications/six-sigma-black-belt-certification/)
 * and updated.
 * When I go to the live site and click that page I get an error which says:
 * “Sorry…
    The page doesnt exist”
