 * Hi Folks,
 * We’re doing a refresh of our website. I uploaded a JPG of our main product. We
   created a ton of pages referencing this image. Let’s say that the permalink for
   this image was [http://www.website/image](http://www.website/image).
 * We realized that we had an issue with the image. We deleted from our Media and
   deleted the scaled images from our Cpanel. We uploaded the image with the corrections.
   WordPress created a new permalink for this image, even though it has the same
   file name. The new permalink is [http://www.website/image-2](http://www.website/image-2).
 * What do we need to do to get the new image back to the original permalink? We
   want it to be [http://www.website.com/image](http://www.website.com/image).
 * Is there some list of permalink URL’s that can be edited?
 * Thanks,
 * Jay

 * I would run this on your db first :
    [https://interconnectit.com/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/](https://interconnectit.com/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/)
 * You really should have run this:
    [https://wordpress.org/plugins/enable-media-replace/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/enable-media-replace/)

 * Thank you for the response.
 * You are absolutely right, we should have use the plug in to just replace the
   image.
 * One question about the Interconnectit plug in, do you recommend using that to
   find the “image-2” permalink and replace it with “image”?

 * View the page source on your live site to see which image is being rendered.
 * Triple compare your bad image string :
    /wp-content/uploads/2021/02/BAD-20-Circuit-
   Kit.jpg with your good image string : /wp-content/uploads/2021/02/GOOD-20-Circuit-
   Kit.jpg
 * Backup your db, and do a Dry Run using the serialized search and replace tool,
   and go for it.
    🙂

 * Okay… we’ll give it a try.
 * Thank you very much.
