 * So right now my site is displaying [http://www.example.com/blogpost](http://www.example.com/blogpost)
 * but I want it to automatically permalink as [http://www.example.com/blog/blogpost](http://www.example.com/blog/blogpost)
 * I can’t set it this way in the permalinks section because then pages that aren’t
   inside the blog also get the parent of “blog” as in [http://www.example.com/blog/not-a-blogpost](http://www.example.com/blog/not-a-blogpost)
 * I have Home>BlogPage>BlogPost structure but it still insists on taking out the
   middle man when I go to a blog post and just auto permalinking [http://www.example.com/blogpost](http://www.example.com/blogpost)
 * So I’ve searched everywhere and I can’t find a way to do this, it seems like
   it would be a piece of cake. Is it even possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 * well the permalink you give affects ALL posts in your website.
    though i am not
   clear on your requirements, i guess what you are looking out for is: `/%category%/%
   postname%/` for reading: [http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks](http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks)

 * Here’s an example.
 * [http://patricktilghman.com](http://patricktilghman.com)
 * I have the three projects on the bottom that are seperate from the blog. I want
   them to have their own url structure like /filmlandscape or /project/filmlandscape
 * then there is the blog at the top when you click follow, I want the posts within
   the blog to read /follow/%postname%
 * Every reported solution I’ve seen leads back to the link you gave, but I can’t
   find anything in it with relevance to this problem.
    If I’m correct it seems
   like I’m trying to make all posts outside of the three “projects” at the bottom
   have a permalink parent of /follow/

 * Alrite..
    so for the bottom 3, use pages instead of posts. and for blogs i think
   its working fine now: [http://patricktilghman.com/follow/temporary](http://patricktilghman.com/follow/temporary)

 * Oh thank the lord, I found the answer.
 * Thank you for your help, Shadez, I really appreciate the effort. The “projects”
   have to be posts, I can’t make them pages, it has something to do with the way
   the theme is set up.
 * Here is a link if anyone else comes across this problem.
