# Permalink Structure Error

 * Hi,
 * I went to customize my permalink structure and made my .htaccess writeable but
   when I tried to go to my blog([http://www.enableworld.com](http://www.enableworld.com))
   I can’t. Here’s the message that comes up–
 * Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration
   and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator,
   [webmaster@enableworld.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/permalink-structure-error/webmaster@enableworld.com?output_format=md)
   and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done
   that may have caused the error.
 * More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
 * Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying 
   to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
 * I messed up somewhere. Any Ideas?

 * Do you have mod_rewrite on? It seems that your webserver doesn’t know where to
   point the request.
