 * Hi,
 * My domain name is held at a different hosting site to my site. I can set it up
   so when someone goes to my domain they are automatically sent to the website
   but the permalinks ahow the [http://address](http://address) provided by the
   site hosts. Can I change things to replace it with my domain which would look
   better and will not change if I change web hosts?
 * Thanks for your help.
 * Mark

 * You mean you have domain name registered by someone else and you hosting with
   a different host if so all you need to do is change name servers at registrar
   to point to your host account.
    Your host should have provided you with DNS settings.

 * So under permalink settings I create a custom structure substituting my domain
   name url for the site url supplied by the hosting company.
 * Thanks

 * What is the domain name in your Settings>>>>General as that is domain name that
   is used.
    In permalinks you do not use domain name you suppose to use /%postname%/
   so that permalinks use your title of page or post in urls.

 * The wordpress url is [http://www.markmcnee.site90.net](http://www.markmcnee.site90.net)

   The site url is [http://www.markmcnee.site90.net](http://www.markmcnee.site90.net)
   and the permalink is [http://www.markmcnee.site90.net/sample-post/](http://www.markmcnee.site90.net/sample-post/)
   but my domain is markmcnee.com so I would like the permalinks to be [http://www.markmcnee.com/sample-post/](http://www.markmcnee.com/sample-post/)

 * This domain name markmcnee.com is it pointing your host account if so you will
   need ask your host to change DNS.
    Some how markmcnee.com is redirected to [http://www.markmcnee.site90.net](http://www.markmcnee.site90.net)
   markmcnee is subdomain name of site90.net
 * then you will able to change domain names in Settings>>>General to your domain
   name.
