• I am new to wordpress. I am using a premium template “Organic” for my website http://www.discussionspk.com. I have custom settings of permalinks as /%postname%/ where i just want to show my post name. When i changed it, it asked me to update the web.config which i did and blog start working. But when i hit Next Page, URL comes as http://discussionspk.com/page/2/ and i get 404 on my hosting. I am not sure what causing this issue.

Please help? I know some of Php code but i am not a coder.

    Thank you.

    Khurram.

  • You don’t seem to have an Next/Older Posts link on your suite at the moment. Does your theme’s index.php file use a custom query?

    Thank you for the reply.

Yes, I have increased the number of posts to 10 in order to temporarily fix it. Also, when i use the default settings of links which is numeric, it works fine like http://discussionspk.com/?paged=2.

I cannot use these default settings because it is not SEO friendly. I googled this issue and found that there is something wrong with .htaccess file. I created this file myself but i don’t know what to write in this file and where should i place this file in order to have it work.

I am using Godaddy economy hosting and i have installed Word press manually on it. There is another website http://www.pkcolumns.com (I don’t own) which is using the same theme but there paging and permalinks are working fine.

I am having the same problem and I was surfing 3 hours but I could not get any answer. What can I do?

I am also having same problem, can anyone help pls ?
